2019 Goals 8-10

Day 4 of the blizzard brought out the sun. It was cold--but I was able to get to town to get a few things. Tomorrow evening a second round of weather will come through that might keep us home through the New Year so we are hoping to get out of town and possibly get the hell out of this house before this weather comes in. The weather and Christmas vacation just did not cooperate very well. So this is my final blog of 2018. I will return weekly (Wednesdays) in Jan. And I WILL be talking about my trip to Japan and Taiwan as my first blog entry in 2019. It was an amazing experience with amazing people. And I met life long friends throughout this experience and I am forever changed because I had this opportunity. As my husband and I were pigging out on fajitas and chips and salsa after going to his doctors appointment we came to the conclusion that we are well....fat. We ARE. We love food. It is easy to eat when we are stuck at home. Where ever we go--well we really need to get somethin...

2019 Goals 4-7

Well Day 3 of the SD blizzard wasn't to bad. My husband got up and moved the snow around--the sun was out so the chickens came out of the barn for awhile. My husband had an appointment out of town so I decided to get out of the house and go with him. It was nice to have that time without kids. We can talk about things without the little ears in the house listening in. Anyways--it is always nice to go on a date. So I have talked about cleaning up the clutter on social media (I have started leaving Facebook Groups today--it is seriously a process). And I talked about using my time better and maybe reading a few books and last but not least--getting a little more involved in projects that I am passionate about. My focus will be kids, animals and the homeless issue in our state. Today I want to talk about planners. How many start the new year off with a planner and in February either throw it in the garbage--or maybe dig it out in late August when school starts so you can keep trac...

2019 Goals 2-3

Today marks the second day of a winter blizzard. Happy to say we are warm, no power outages yet (knock on wood) and the kids along with my husband have attempted the world record for most food consumed in 24 hours. I mean seriously? It is insane in my house right now. What really stinks is that we are on Christmas vacation and besides the quick trip to the Black Hills we are just stuck home. Not much fun. Maybe a movie this weekend once the weather lightens up. IF it lightens up. Yesterday I talked a lot about cleaning up the clutter on social media. Today I would like to talk about the little things in our lives that we are maybe not doing. As I sit back and reflect I have realized I have wasted time. I LOVE television. Especially the "Real Housewives" franchises. My all time favorite Housewives are only found online (Cheshire and Melbourne) and add all of the other Real Housewives--I can waste a whole day, or two or even three watching them. I get wrapped up in old ...

2019 Goal 1

The day after Christmas is a day of rest for me. With my family there is never JUST Christmas day. My oldest daughter Brittany and her fiance came out for a week right before Christmas. The Friday before Christmas we went out to the Black Hills to see my brother and his family so it was like a Christmas--then we had Christmas Eve at my In-Laws, Christmas morning with my own family, and Christmas dinner with my mom. It has been like this for years--and as exhausting as it is--I finally feel I have adjusted to it. However on the 26th--I am do absolutely NOTHING. When visiting my brother I slept wrong and messed up my neck--every morning the pain has moved to a new location. I have never really been through anything like this and I have a new found sympathy for anyone that has chronic neck pain or headaches. I feel quite limited on a lot of things and am a tad cranky. As I wasted the day in my comfortable new blanket--(a great gift from my brothers' family) I went back and forth b...
