2019 Goals 4-7

Well Day 3 of the SD blizzard wasn't to bad. My husband got up and moved the snow around--the sun was out so the chickens came out of the barn for awhile. My husband had an appointment out of town so I decided to get out of the house and go with him. It was nice to have that time without kids. We can talk about things without the little ears in the house listening in. Anyways--it is always nice to go on a date.

So I have talked about cleaning up the clutter on social media (I have started leaving Facebook Groups today--it is seriously a process). And I talked about using my time better and maybe reading a few books and last but not least--getting a little more involved in projects that I am passionate about. My focus will be kids, animals and the homeless issue in our state.

Today I want to talk about planners. How many start the new year off with a planner and in February either throw it in the garbage--or maybe dig it out in late August when school starts so you can keep track of your kids? Or am I the only one that does that? I can't be....am I? Well number 4 on the 2019 goals is to use my DAMN planner!!! This year I bought my planner at Target (I LOVE TARGET) it is a Simplified Planner by Emily Ley. It is super pretty with pineapples on it. And very colorful on the inside. The reason I like this planner is because it is friendly for left handers, it can go with me wherever I go (I have tried just desk planners--and they don't work well for me) and it leaves me a lot of room for planning. I am involved in a lot of projects and I am getting to old to remember what and where I am suppose to be. So I PLAN to use this planner.

Number 5 on the 2019 goals is to clean up the clutter around me. I have a shop, a greenhouse building, and a small storage shed full of items. I have no clue what is in them. In 2012/2013 when we were going through farm estate issues and we were not sure if we would continue to live here I started packing for a move--when we found out we were staying--those items just remained packed. It is time to go through it--sell it, pitch it or donate it. I am going to Europe and Greece this summer so I need the spending money. Do you have these same issues? There is money to be made with items we are not using!!! Clothes are touchy but items--in good shape--that is just money in your pocket.

Number 6 on my 2019 list is to put my retirement plan in place. I have said this before--my time as an owner of a greenhouse and an exchange coordinator will be ending. I am committed to both the greenhouse and the exchange coordinator position for FIVE more years. I will be 50 years old. I will have put 25 years into the greenhouse and 10 years into the exchange program I am the coordinator for. My kids should be finished or at least close to being finished with college with the exception of Conner and I feel it is the right time retire from those two ventures. I will be transitioning and establishing a new venture this year and within the next five years this new venture will be established. I will never quit working but it is time for a change and I am finally OK with that. What about you? What is your dream? What is your next venture? Think about it--for your vision board.

Number 7 on my 2019 list is to try something new. This year it will be using essential oils. I don't know much about essential oils but I am lucky enough to know a few lovely women who are experts. I know people who swear by essential oils and others that believe it is a hoax. So I will let you know my experience. I got a Diffuser with an anxiety essential oil blend. Right now my daughter is using my Diffuser with her own oils to conquer her nasty cold. I am looking forward to learning more about oils--I think the trip to Japan and Taiwan maybe sparked this interest. I will keep you posted.

To sum up goals for 2019
1. Clean up the clutter on social media
2. Pick up a book
3. Get involved in a cause
4. Use a DAMN planner
5. Clean up the clutter around me
6. Put retirement plan in place
7. Try something new

Tomorrow will be the final blog of the series and I will talk about goals 7-10.

Until then--stay warm. Kristi
